Masters Class: Funko Pops

  In 1998 Mike and Claudia Becker began a small company to create low tech affordable toys driven by nostalgia. Fast forward twenty five years, and that small toy company has become one of the largest toy companies in the world, holding the licenses to the biggest franchises in the industry. From Austin Powers to Power Rangers, Disney to DC, Funko Pops have something for every collector and nostalgic reminiscer.   In the world of action figure photography, Funko Pop photographers are one of the largest groups of artists devoted to their craft. The sub genre of the art has a massive following with hundreds to thousands of artists contributing to collaborations with their creative genius on display. Pages that share and promote these artist are innumerable, putting out daily and weekly session tags to bolster the communities involvement.   This week on the Masters Class, we are ecstatic to be bringing you into the world of vinyl figures (with or without spring loaded heads)...

Masters Class: Star Wars

 A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far away... Star Wars toys hit shelves and kicked a new fanbase of collectors for generations to come. And in the world of action figure photography, Star Wars figures have been the main focus for many. Whether retro Kenner, modern day Hasbro and Hot Toys, or any line in between of any shape or size, Star Wars figures remain one of the most popular genres to create articulated pieces of artwork. For the first Masters Class collaboration of the year we are taking a leap into hyperspace with Star Wars action figure photography! And to do that we are bringing in two amazingly talented artists to share their tips and tricks, and to show us the way.
